On June 30 at 9AM PT (12PM ET), Mentor Graphics will present a free hour-long webinar entitled "Developing an Industrial Machine Vision Application", in partnership with fellow Alliance member company AMD and with Qtechnology. Here's the description, from the event page:
In Industrial Machine Vision systems there are large classes of problems that require real time image processing using headless embedded systems. In order to achieve the real time goals of the system, hardware assisted graphics acceleration can be leveraged.
AMD, Mentor Graphics and Qtechnology have collaborated to create an application that performs high-speed scanning and validation of paper currency. The goal of the demonstration was to show how fake paper currency can be filtered out by scanning the paper currency with light at specific spectra and checking the resulting images.
You will learn about using Mentor Embedded Linux running on the AMD R-Series SOC with Qtechnology cameras for fast prototyping of Industrial Vision Applications. All the stages of an industrial vision project will be described, from the exploration of the different sensors to the profiling of the application to meet project constraints.
For more information and to register, see the event page.
