Mentor Graphics Demonstration of Time-Sensitive Networking for Synchronized Remote A/V Playback

Ricardo Anguiano, Technical Marketing Engineer at Mentor Graphics, demonstrates the company's latest embedded vision technologies and products at the December 2016 Embedded Vision Alliance Member Meeting. Specifically, Anguiano demonstrates time-sensitive networking for synchronized remote audio and video playback.

Modern rear-seat entertainment designs use powerful infotainment head-unit capabilities to stream video and audio content to less capable and less expensive rear seat infotainment displays. In order to synchronize audio and video between design components, a time-sensitive networking technology called Audio Video Bridging (AVB) is used. This demo features an AVnu compliant AVB Ethernet switch and three infotainment display units running Mentor Graphic's ConnectedOS featuring an AVnu-compliant Ethernet AVB stack. In this demo configuration, the center unit is the talker, and the two left and right units are the listeners.

Here you’ll find a wealth of practical technical insights and expert advice to help you bring AI and visual intelligence into your products without flying blind.
