Ananda Roy, Senior Product Manager leading the low-power AI product line at Synaptics, demonstrates the company’s latest edge AI and vision technologies and products at the 2022 Embedded Vision Summit. Specifically, Roy demonstrates overhead fall-detection on the Katana SoC evaluation kit.
The Katana evaluation kit comes with a HiMax camera module. The output of what the Katana SoC sees is displayed on the screen through a Raspberry Pi Pico Streamer. As a person falls to the ground, underneath the frame in an 8 ft x 8 ft area, Katana AI algorithms detect the fall by posture estimation and the demo flashes a “FALL” message on the screen.
