Computer Vision and Perceptual AI Developer Survey
Since 2015, the Edge AI and Vision Alliance™ has surveyed computer vision and perceptual AI product developers annually regarding the products they are working on and the hardware, algorithms and tools they are using, and the biggest obstacles that are impeding their work. We focus our analysis on respondents who are developing end products for consumers, businesses or governments (vs. organizations that are providing services, or providing components, subsystems or software for incorporation into other products). The overwhelming majority of respondents are using or planning to use computer vision in their products or services.
For example, OpenCV has long been extremely popular for developers working with classical (non-deep-learning) computer vision algorithms. According to this year’s developer survey, it’s now gaining popularity for those working with neural network algorithms. The following figure shows nearly one quarter of respondents are using OpenCV for designing, training or evaluating neural networks.
