Free Webinar Explores Power-efficient Edge AI Applications through Neuromorphic Processing

On December 17, 2020 at 9 am PT (noon ET), Anil Mankar, Chief Development Officer at BrainChip, will present the free half-hour webinar “Power-efficient Edge AI Applications through Neuromorphic Processing,” organized by the Edge AI and Vision Alliance. Here’s the description, from the event registration page:

Many edge-AI processors take advantage of the spatial sparsity in neural network models to eliminate unnecessary computations and save power. Neuromorphic processors achieve further savings by performing event-based computation, which exploits the temporal sparsity inherent in data generated by audio, vision, olfactory, lidar, and other edge sensors.

This presentation will provide an update on the AKD1000, BrainChip’s first Neural network SoC (NSoC), and describe the advantages of processing information in the event-domain. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

Anil Mankar, Chief Development Officer at BrainChip, has spent 30 years developing products in the semiconductor industry. At Western Digital, Mr. Mankar developed PC core logic chipsets. During his years at Conexant Systems Inc. in the position of VP of Engineering, he developed multiple products across various industry segments and later became the company’s Chief Development Officer overseeing all product development for V92 modems, DSL, set-top boxes, PC audio and video ‘system on a chip’ products. Mr. Mankar was also Senior Vice President of VLSI Engineering at Mindspeed Technologies, responsible for wireless and VOIP infrastructure product development.
