Martin Hunt, Director of Applications Engineering at Coherent Logix, demonstrates the company’s latest edge AI and vision technologies and products at the 2021 Embedded Vision Summit. Specifically, Hunt demonstrates virtual surround view fire detection using a deep neural network (DNN) and the company’s HyperX processor.
In this demo, Hunt shows the detection of fire using a DNN and a virtual 360-degree view of an environment. Four HD cameras with wide angle lenses stream data into a HyperX processor, which generates a virtual view from any perspective around the space. The virtual view is swept around the space and fed to a DNN-based fire detection network to monitor the area.
