Lattice Semiconductor Demonstration of Object Classification Running on Avant FPGAs

Patrick Bednarski, Software Engineer at Lattice Semiconductor, demonstrates the company’s latest edge AI and vision technologies and products at the 2023 Embedded Vision Summit. Specifically, Bednarski demonstrates object classification running on Lattice Semiconductor’s Avant FPGAs.

Avant is the latest family of mid-range FPGAs from Lattice Semiconductor, optimized for edge processing. In the demo, a video is streamed into Avant through HDMI, with the FPGA running a compact AI model for classification, and the output (again through HDMI) is displayed on a TV. The design runs in real time at over 60 FPS, using only 20% of the device’s resources and consuming 1.6W of power.

Here you’ll find a wealth of practical technical insights and expert advice to help you bring AI and visual intelligence into your products without flying blind.
