Explore the Profound Changes AI Brings to Embedded Vision Solutions

June 10, 2024 — FRAMOS a leading imaging company, is excited to announce its presence at 2024 EMVA Business Conference at Gdańsk, Poland. This conference represents a great opportunity for the company to present embedded vision solutions and demonstrates its commitment to providing knowledge and imaging excellence.

On Saturday, 15 June 2024, 10:50 – 11:20 CEST, FRAMOS’ Dr. Frederik Schönebeck, Director of Growth, will present the topic “Navigating Embedded Vision System Complexities in the Era of AI,” at the 2024 EMVA Business Conference in Gdańsk, Poland.

The presentation will explore the profound changes AI brings to embedded vision solutions, particularly in non-factory automation use cases. It will cover the significance of vision as a critical application for edge computing and the growing trend of using freely available frameworks and reference implementations to develop application-specific solutions.

Dr. Schönebeck will address the common challenges in developing and deploying embedded vision systems, such as:

  • Technical nuances of electrical design (characterized using the EMVA1288 standard)
  • Alignment of sensor and lens parameters (e.g., Chief-Ray-Angle (CRA) and Modulation-Transfer Function (MTF))
  • Complexities in custom, often proprietary image processing pipelines
  • Production requirements for vision systems, including statistical quality control

Additionally, the talk will emphasize the need for strategic partnerships and collaborations to maintain and enhance the development and production of AI-supported camera solutions in the western world.

Dr. Frederik Schönebeck, with nearly 15 years of imaging experience, leads the global Growth department at FRAMOS. He holds a doctoral degree in Astronomy from the International Max Planck Research School and has significant experience in multi-spectral imaging, having worked with ESO’s Very Large Telescope in Chile. Dr. Schönebeck has supported numerous vision projects, making him well-versed in the complexities of embedded imaging systems and adept at helping customers bring innovative solutions to market swiftly.
