VC MIPI Multiview Cam is a new OEM module for light field measurements, multiview and multispectral imaging from Vision Components. It can be connected to common processor boards via a single MIPI CSI-2 interface.
Ettlingen, October 09, 2025. Vision Components is expanding its product range with the VC MIPI Multiview Cam, a camera array with nine image sensors. Based on this module, individual vision sensors for light field measurements, multiview and multispectral imaging can be developed quickly and easily. Connection to a processor board is via a single MIPI CSI-2 interface. The VC MIPI Multiview Cam will be unveiled at embedded world North America, which will take place from November 4-6, 2025, in Anaheim, California.

New product line: VC MIPI Based Solutions
The VC MIPI Multiview Cam is part of the VC MIPI Based Solutions. This new product line comprises embedded vision systems based on MIPI CSI-2 technologies, which will be made available as OEM modules for direct integration. This saves companies time and money compared to in-house development, because complex development steps for design, integration, data pre-processing, and optical setup have already been implemented and tested. In addition to the VC MIPI Multiview Cam, VC MIPI Based Solutions include the VC Stereo Cam, the VC picoSmart embedded vision system, and over 50 GMSL2 cameras including deserializer boards.
Jan-Erik Schmitt, Vice President of Sales at Vision Components, says:
“Our goal is to make it easier for companies to integrate embedded vision into their applications. MIPI CSI-2 has established itself as a standard interface for this purpose. In addition to our VC MIPI Cameras and accessories, we are now going one step further, with our VC MIPI Based Solutions. They are ready-to-deploy OEM modules based on MIPI technology.”
Connection to any processor board via MIPI CSI-2
The VC MIPI Multiview Cam integrates nine camera modules with OV9281 image sensor from OmniVision on a robust aluminum plate. An onboard FPGA combines the image data so that the nine individual images are transmitted in a MIPI CSI-2 data stream. This allows the camera array to be connected via a single MIPI interface to any standard processor board. Depending on the target application, FPGAs with different computing power can be selected, enabling even complex pre-processing. This simplifies the selection of the processor board for the end application.
Light field measurement, spectral analysis, and AI training
Depending on the configuration and filter, the nine camera modules of the VC MIPI Multiview Cam capture objects from different angles and/or with sensitivity to different wavelength ranges. This enables a spatial, 3D representation of objects or the analysis of surfaces and materials for spectral properties. The images from the Multiview camera can also be used for training AI models, because they show objects from slightly different perspectives in a single shot. This speeds up the generation of real training data and the training of robust AI models.
Plug-and-play vision integration: from camera to OEM module
In addition to MIPI cameras and accessories such as cables, FPGA accelerators, and optics, the VC MIPI Based Solutions represent another building block of the VC MIPI Bricks System. VC thus enables plug-and-play integration of embedded vision with the best possible compatibility. All components in the VC range are developed and manufactured in Germany, with the highest industrial quality and guaranteed long-term availability.
