This year’s theme, “A Smarter Vision for AI,” reflects an important shift underway across the security industry. AI is moving beyond the cloud/server paradigm toward edge systems capable of understanding environments, interpreting events, and supporting faster, more informed responses in real-world deployments.
At ISC West, we’ll showcase how our AI SoCs, software platform, and developer ecosystem work together to bring intelligence closer to the source—at the edge.
Advancing Intelligent Edge AI Systems
As customer demands evolve, security systems are transitioning from passive video capture towards intelligent perception platforms. Organizations increasingly need systems that can perceive, understand, and perform reliably under strict power, latency, and bandwidth constraints.
Ambarella has long played a central role in the evolution of modern security cameras, and today that foundation is continuing to expand into full-stack edge AI systems.
With more than 400 million SoCs shipped worldwide, including over 42 million edge AI SoCs deployed in production devices, Ambarella brings extensive experience supporting AI solutions across cameras, robotics, and edge infrastructure.
Raising the Bar for Edge AI Vision
Central to our exhibit is the CV7 edge AI vision SoC, designed to advance both imaging performance and on-device AI processing.
CV7 delivers:
- Multi-stream 8Kp30+ (or 4x 4Kp30+) video processing
- Enhanced low-light performance with our AI-based ISP technology
- Expanded on-camera AI capabilities
- Approximately 20% lower power consumption than the previous generation (CV5)
Built on a 4 nm process, featuring Ambarella’s third-generation CVflow AI accelerator, CV7 can support a combination of CNNs and transformer networks, running in tandem.
By enabling higher-performance AI models to run locally, CV7 helps reduce reliance on cloud processing while improving responsiveness, privacy, and system efficiency, which are key requirements for modern security solutions.
Extending Intelligence to Coordinated Systems
A smarter vision for AI extends beyond individual devices to coordinated systems operating across different environments.
Alongside CV7, Ambarella will highlight its N1 edge AI SoC, a low-power high-performance SoC designed for on-prem AI boxes, smart-city recorders, and next-generation autonomous endpoints. N1-based systems can process input from up to 64 camera streams simultaneously, enabling scalable intelligence at the edge without constant cloud connectivity.
Together, these platforms support a broader architectural evolution—bringing perception, analytics, and decision support closer to deployment environments while maintaining industry-leading AI performance per watt.
Simplifying AI Deployment with Agentic Workflows
As AI capabilities expand, ease of deployment becomes increasingly important for integrators and developers.
At ISC West, Ambarella plans to demonstrate examples of agentic AI workflows designed to simplify how AI systems are configured and operated. These workflows enable developers to test, iterate, and deploy new solutions faster.
For example, one anticipated demo at our exhibit will showcase an agentic system that allows operators to search live or recorded video streams using intuitive questions instead of manually reviewing hours of footage, which has the potential to reduce investigation time and
improve operational efficiency.
Supporting Developers Through Dev Zone
Ambarella also plans to showcase its Developer Zone (Dev Zone), designed to help developers, ISVs, and system integrators more easily build and deploy edge AI solutions.
Dev Zone provides access to software tools, optimized models, documentation, and learning resources in a unified environment, reducing friction across evaluation, integration, and deployment—helping teams move more efficiently from proof-of-concept to production systems.
