What is the Edge AI and Vision Alliance?
The Edge AI and Vision Alliance (formerly the Embedded Vision Alliance) is a worldwide industry partnership bringing together 100+ technology providers and end-product companies to accelerate the adoption of edge AI and vision in products.
What do you mean by “edge AI”?
We define “edge AI” as artificial intelligence processing performed on chip, on device, on system, or on premise. It explicitly includes applications where some AI processing is handled locally and some is handled in the cloud. Read more.
What caused the expansion of the Alliance and its name change?
We are seeing the same challenges in edge AI that we saw in computer vision almost a decade ago. Then, as now, a powerful new technology had become ready for widespread use, but the companies and developers creating systems and applications were struggling to figure out how to best incorporate it into their products. And then, as now, technology suppliers needed data and insights to help them find their best opportunities, as well as connections to customers and partners to enable them to grow their businesses.

What is the mission of the Alliance?
The mission of the Alliance is to accelerate the adoption of edge AI and vision technology by:
- Inspiring and empowering the individuals and companies creating intelligent systems and applications
- Building a vibrant ecosystem by bringing together technology suppliers, end-product creators, and partners;
- Delivering timely insights into relevant market research, technology trends, standards and application requirements.
Who are the Members of the Edge AI and Vision Alliance?
The Alliance now has more than 100 Member companies, ranging from name-brand multinationals to newly formed startups. All have one thing in common: they either produce technology to enable AI and vision in products, or they use AI and vision in their products. A list of the Alliance members can be found here.
Who can join the Alliance?
Alliance membership is open to any company that supplies (Technology Members) or uses (Solution Members) technology for AI or vision systems and applications.
What are the benefits of being a Member of the Alliance?
The Alliance has Technology Member Programs and Solution Member Programs geared to the unique needs of each member type.
