May 2, 2018 – Image Matters is pleased to announce that it has joined the Embedded Vision Alliance, a global partnership of companies developing and using computer vision technology. With this important step, Image Matters aims to foster dialogue with new and established customers and partners involved in developing systems and applications for enhanced image processing technologies as well as enabling technologies.

Originally rooted in the broadcast industry, Image Matters’ membership in the Embedded Vision Alliance will open up new markets for the company, ranging from autonomous cars through AI and machine learning to embedded vision –all of which are also gaining momentum in the global TV markets of today and tomorrow.

“We strongly support the goals of Embedded Vision Alliance and are proud to be part of such an extraordinary network of creative minds and ingenious inventors in the emerging field of computer vision technology,” said Jean-François Nivart, CEO and founder of Image Matters. “On the road from SDI to IP and from SD and HD to 4K or even 8K, collaboration is key to future-proof investments and provides for flexible and fast image processing times. The earlier you begin to exchange ideas and start working together, the better the results will be.”

With Image Matters’ powerful and modular Origami Ecosystem, the company has already paved the way for collaboration with many key players of the imaging industry for several years, among them Embedded Vision Alliance members Xilinx and PathPartner, and across a wide range of different applications such as broadcast, cinema and medical imaging, to name but a few.

“We’re pleased to welcome Image Matters to the Embedded Vision Alliance,” said Jeff Bier, founder of the Alliance. "Visual intelligence brings compelling capabilities to a variety of applications, but its computation demands are challenging. Image Matters' FPGA-based modules are a welcome option for product creators deploying demanding computer vision algorithms."

As a new member of the Embedded Vision Alliance, Image Matters will also attend the partnership’s Embedded Vision Summit held in Santa Clara, California from May 21st to 24th.

“The conference and exhibition is a mixture of education and networking. It provides hands-on practical training, differentiated market insights as well as the latest trends, and, what’s even more important, it also allows a glimpse into the future,” Nivart said. “We look forward to joining our industry peers in this unique event to shape the future of imaging together.”

The Embedded Vision Summit is expecting well above 1,500 attendees, 85% of which are developing or planning vision-based products or applications, respectively. The four summit days are packed with over 90 presentations from highly acclaimed industry experts, as well as 4 hands-on workshops. In addition, over 100 demos from more than 60 exhibitors are to unveil the latest trends and business insights.
