On Wednesday, October 15 from 11:45 AM – 12:15 PM PT, Alliance Member company eInfochips will deliver the presentation “Real-time Vision AI System on Edge AI Platforms” at the RoboBusiness and DeviceTalks West 2025 Conference in Santa Clara, California. From the event page:
This session presents a real-time, edge-deployed Vision AI system for automated quality inspection, demonstrated through a pill defect detection application. Leveraging powerful edge AI platforms, our solution utilizes dedicated AI hardware accelerators (like NPUs or GPUs) to efficiently offload computational tasks from the CPU. The system captures and preprocesses video streams, runs inference with AI models, and applies essential post-processing techniques.
Performance evaluations demonstrate robust real-time capabilities, achieving about 29 FPS at resolution1920x1080@30 FPS, and about 58 FPS at source 960×540@60 FPS. While initially designed for pill detection, this modular pipeline is easily adaptable for broader industrial applications, such as electronics quality control, automotive inspection, and packaging validation. The demonstrated system underscores the practicality and scalability of deploying advanced, real-time Vision AI capabilities directly on resource-constrained edge hardware.
eInfochips will also showcase an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) and machine vision-based demo at its Booth #818 throughout the event, taking place October 15-16. For more information and to register, visit the event page.
