Visidon Demonstration of a Driver Monitoring System Running On a Synopsys ARC EV7x Processor

Vaida Jasulaityte, Business Development Director at Visidon, demonstrates the company’s latest edge AI and vision technologies and products in Synopsys’ booth at the 2022 Embedded Vision Summit. Specifically, Jasulaityte demonstrates Visidon’s Driver Monitoring System (DMS) running on a Synopsys ARC® EV7x Vision Processor.

In the demo, Jasulaityte shows how Visidon’s DMS, a vehicle safety system, determines drowsiness and attentiveness of the driver by tracking eye movements, such as blink rate and open or closeness, as well as head position and gaze direction. The Synopsys ARC EV7x Vision Processors’ heterogeneous architecture integrates a vector DSP, a vector FPU, and a neural network accelerator to provide a scalable solution. Visidon’s algorithms are executed on the ARC EV7x neural network engine and use the DSP for the basic image processing tasks.

Here you’ll find a wealth of practical technical insights and expert advice to help you bring AI and visual intelligence into your products without flying blind.
